We decided to use palm wax tapers instead of tapers from IKEA for our candles. We found an online store http://bit.ly/bDtKkZ where the tapers were the same price as the IKEA ones - so we didn't have to spend more to be green.

We're using empty beer and wine bottles for candlestick holders which we'll be recycling after the ceremony.

We're already planning on using recycled or vintage rings and, as it happens, one of the designers/creators we were looking at are listed on the Green Bride Guide website (McFarland Designs).

Also, reusing wine bottles for homemade lemonade and root beer on the tables, and possibly design our own beer (we've made several beer batches in the past) and refill old bottles.

For our table decor we're using vintage silver platters that we found at Antique Stores/Thrift Shops and vintage cook books.

I've got several ideas & plans actually. I'm not a big flower person but have a TON of wrought iron candle holders, so in place of flowers on the tables, I'm using my candle holders w/flameless candles & them my cousin is making cut paper flowers out of my old wedding magazines for colorful accents. I already own all the candleholders & vases.

In addition to those things, one of my friends is getting married before me(actually at my place, I own a 115 y/o church) and she's passing on her linnens and garland to me for my use. When I'm done, my sister will use the items for her wedding

i follow on twitter as well @broknwing
