Bride VS. Groom

RINGS
Today we had our first big wedding disagreement. While out shopping for our wedding bands, my fiance tried on a gold band and decided he liked it better than the platinum band. I was under the impression that we should match, and since mine was made of platinum - his should be too.

Anyways - it started a big argument between us.

A wonderfully pleasant Bride VS. Groom moment on a Saturday.

So the question is - does it matter if the wedding rings are made of the same metal for the bride and groom or is it all personal preference?

It does not matter at all. Yes, it might look nicer in pictures, but that's about it. If you have a problem with them being different colors, do the ring pictures in black and white.

He's going to be wearing the ring for the rest of his life, so you want him to love it. Don't force him to get something just because it matches.

Nope. It's just a ring. The only thing that REALLY matters is the commitment to one another that you make. :)

For us, it was easy to have matching rings but that's only because we both have an affinity for silver and/or white gold. But honestly, it does not matter at all. And like Ashley said, if it bothers you, take the ring photos in black and white. I think it's more important that each person loves the ring they're theoretically going to be wearing for the rest of their lives than they match.

I can't see any reason why it should matter!!!! In my mind gold and silver ARE matching..... maybe I'm a crazy person, but I'm wanting silver engagement with gold wedding band....and for him.....who knows.....maybe tungsten.

It did not matter to me....I think its a matter of preference between each individual.

Absolutely doesn't matter if they match. Except for the rare picture or two, no one will ever pay as much attention to it as you. YOU must wear it daily - YOU know what goes best with your style - YOU know what will drive you mad (for example, yellow gold). Do what makes you both happy individually! It is supposed to be a sign of happiness in marriage - don't look at it everytime with frustration and think, "I compromised."
