After searching high and low, trying on 100s of dresses at 15 different stores around DFW, and shuffling through pictures of dresses in magazines, I happy to announce that have found my backyard wedding dress!!!
It was a crazy couple of weeks, and I started to loose hope in the fact that a girl just knows when she tries on the dress. Seriously, I already found "the ONE" and he's my groom - was I really going to have the same feeling when I put on a silly dress?
When shopping for a gown I had several expectations, which fortunately limited the number of dresses taken into the dressing room. One, I wanted ivory lace with a vintage feel. Two, I wanted strapless. Three, I wanted buttons on the back. Four, it had to be under $1,000 to fit in our budget.
Maybe some brides experience the "love at first sight" with their bridal gown, but not me! The dress I ultimately choose grew on me over time through pictures and the anticipation that I would not be able to try it on a second time because it was part of a trunk show at Brides By Demetrios in Frisco, TX - a store that I had been to 5 times.
My sister went with me to Demetrios, and we went through all the dresses - picking about 6 for me to try on. The last dress was the dress I thought was part of the trunk show. They had it there! When I tried it on for my sister, we both started crying because we knew the search was over and it was the dress - perfect in every way, or the serendipity dress as she put it.
The dress.... Cosmobella Style 7380 - A-line, Ivory Lace, Sweetheart Neckline, Corset Back
